Martin Kouyoumdjian, candidate for Deputy Mayor of Grand Valley

Meet Martin

A neighbour ready to serve

Grand Valley has been home to my family since 2016. My children attend school here, and over the years I’ve come to know our town through family life, volunteering, and service.

I’m an active member of the Lions Club and have served on Grand Valley’s Economic Development Committee. I’ve helped teach technology to local seniors through annual library sessions, promoted the My Main Street grant program to local business groups, and helped a couple of businesses with their applications.

Professionally, I bring more than 20 years of experience in business and technology. That work taught me how to listen, bring people together, communicate clearly, and keep complicated projects moving.

More about Martin

A stronger community as we grow

Four priorities for Grand Valley

Growth should leave us with better places to gather, more ways to stay active, and a stronger sense of community for residents of every age.

Thoughtful Development

Plan ahead so growth fits Grand Valley, supports local services, and respects our town’s character.

Public Spaces for Everyone

Support recreation facilities, parks, trails, and shared spaces that help a growing town feel like home.

A Town People Want to Visit

Build on Grand Valley’s natural beauty and local character to support tourism and local businesses.

Clear Communication

Help residents understand what is happening, why decisions are made, and how their voices can be heard.

Why Deputy Mayor?

A connecting role

The Deputy Mayor helps connect residents, Council, staff, community organizations, businesses, and other levels of government. It calls for listening, coordination, and steady follow-through.

That is the kind of work I have done throughout my career and community service—and the kind of contribution I want to make for Grand Valley.

“Thoughtful leadership means listening carefully, working together, and keeping good ideas moving.”
